Sol Cafe Opens Today 12/10/12 Coffee On Howard!

Undercover detective with a nose for news.

Local forensics expert and investigator Benjamin Woodard took time out from his busy day to cover the opening of Howard Street's first official coffee shop. It was a lucky coincidence. He was working on a homicide case in the vicinity and while waiting for PCR to come back on the DNA from the crime scene he had to grab some coffee. The proprietors of the Sol Cafe saw his official police badge hanging around his neck and recognized him as a detective even though he was in plain clothes(they could also tell he was in desperate need of coffee). Sol Cafe was nice enough to give our local detective an exclusive first coffee and tour around the shop. The coffee shop owners were quite surprised to find that he had the time to take pictures and interview them for his local zine. Tip of the hat to B. Woodard for promoting the local community in his spare time.

Back at the station his partner Amber Steel is busy getting DNA samples from the latest perp getting booked. "Damnit where is Woodard?" She wonders. "Probably got sidetracked again and decided to cover some coffee shop opening or that new speed camera!"

Alright, Jeff-O, this is funny.

All right, this is the last straw. It's "Woodard," not "Woodward!" And isn't that a dashing picture of me?

Yes, correction noted Mr Woodard. Thanks for your coverage of Rogers Park and Edgewater!

And yes B.W. it is not a bad head shot. I think you'll get noticed on this site and picked up to do this for TV, definitely pays better.

Thanks much. And I've enjoyed covering the 'hoods. Everyday it's something new.

Jeff-O you are so right in what you said on Hellhole. If it wasn't for you and Craig Ben wouldn't have no good local story ideas to write. What a great team you three are. Keep up the good work. Great site.
