Rogers Park Animal Hospital

In current off state. Vacany!
When will this sign shine again?

Rogers Park needs a new veterinarian and general practitioner to animals. Rogers Park Animal Hospital shuttered its doors in 2012 leaving our pets in the lurch. There is decreased access to good affordable health care to our pooches and kitties. We are putting our pets are risk by not filling this void.

Affordable pet care is what their webpage said. 6812 N Clark. The Yelp reviews date from 6/18/07 to 7/20/12. The reviews ranged from worse experience of my cat's life to he is simply the best. (One reviewer refutes the worst experience of my cat's life tale because there isn't a basement there.) Yelp was founded in 2004 but most reviews start in 2007. One review is from 2010 and this reviewer discusses events from eight years before that, so we can assume he was at this location since atleast 2002.

That's better.

Overall 4 stars out of 5 on Yelp. From reading the reviews we see that Dr Z. Usman is from Orissa, India, a general practicioner vet and is in the midst of retiring. According to the reviews he had a good beside manner and was laid back. The hospital was no frills, provided cat boarding, spaying & neutering,  physical exams, vaccinations diagnosis and treatment. On the walls there were pictures of people with animal heads on their bodies, people posing with their pets and pictures of animal anatomy. The place mainly treated dog and cats. With all the dogs and cats in Rogers Park it seems odd that another vet hasn't stepped forward to fill Dr Z's shoes.

The closest one to Rogers Park is just to the south at 1545 w Devon called VCA Misener-Holley Animal Hospital. It appears that this one is a full service high end hospital. It is a chain hospital which has over five hundred locations. So RogersParkers don't have to travel far to get their pet treated. This spartan hospital boasts Internal medicine, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Cardiology, Neurology. There is pet counseling as well. Here is the specific website for Misener-Holley. Like the former animal hospital its just for dogs and cats.

We have other services here for pets like Rogers Bark pet salon at Jarvis and Greenview. This place appears to be geared to getting dogs ready for their big day at the dog show. And Bark Place is right by the Metra station which provides boarding, grooming, food, treats. At least Bark Place is certified by the Red Cross for pet first aid.

When they were open.
Closed, no awning or sign and neon sign unlit.
