Rogers Park Peace Angels & Day Of Action

The Rogers Park Peace Angels were out walking today handing out flyers. The orange flyer that the nice young man is holding is inviting neighbors to go to a rally to bring awareness to gun violence. The rally will be held at Pottawatomie Park 7340 N Rogers Ave Chicago Il 60626 Sunday April 7th (tomorrow) at 11:00 am and will run until 1:00 pm.

Please continue reading to see what the orange flyer says

Friends,

Inspired by the flash mob event led by artists Lorin Latarro and Stephen Lukas in Daley Plaza on March 24th to bring awareness to gun violence, the Rogers Park Chapter of Organizing for Action is planning our own event in Pottawatomie Park Sunday April 7th. We will gather, partner up and freeze with our hands in the air. We then will slowly sink to the ground and trace each other's outline with chalk. We will then write a name of a Chicago gun victim in each outline and stand to honor their memories. Our work will remain to remind others who visit the park of the loss that gun violence brings to our society. We will hand out flyers asking our friends and neighbors to call our Senators to demand they support the proposed gun control legislation.

We will meet at 11:00 am to partner up and have a rehearsal. We will provide chalk. Then our action will take place at noon.

THE PUNDITS ON TV ARE SAYING THAT THE MOMENT HAS PASSED, THAT GUN CONTROL LEGISLATION IS DEAD. LET'S PROVE THEM WRONG!

There is another flyer that says
