Its about time J.B. Albertos (est. 1965) came north to pizza starved Howard. The Art and Sol Fair is becoming a more coherent organized "affair". The tents were set up east and west of Ashland today. Plenty of room to walk on the sidewalk this time.
The cops were keeping watch in the vacant lot at Howard and Ashland. J.B. Albertos was selling personal pan pizzas out of their truck for five bucks a pop. Pepperoni, sausage and cheese.

In case you didn't know J.B. Albertos is one of the best places in the city for pizza. It has the largest deliverable pizza in the city at a whooping 24 inches. A Chicago tradition for more than 45 years. They are located at 1324 w Morse right next to the Mayne Stage. They always have single slices of pizza for sale, thin and deep, sausage, cheese and usually pepperoni.
They were handing out menus and two dollar coupons. If you shop at Dominick's locally then chances are you have seen their two dollar coupon on the reverse side.

I grew up on JBs and remember when Albertos was a separate entity on Clark St., just south of Touhy. It tastes as good as ever and my only complaint is that I wish they opened earlier in the day.
@Jim A, yeah I wish it opened earlier too. What do you mean separate entity?
Did JB's merge with Alberto's?
I'm pushing the bounds of my memory but as best as I can recall, they did merge after a fire at the Albertos location on Clark. I'll check with my brother-in-law who remembers that era a bit better than I do.
