Brick roads are way more photogenic than modern asphalt or concrete. ICYMI here is another example of a Rogers Park brick road in the rain; Glenwood from Estes to Greenleaf.
Scenes like this will make you get out your trusty camera, lie down on your belly and take some pics. (Really you shouldn't, only your cellphone need touch the street) Brick roads look weird edge on.
This historic street is in dire need of repair (chuckhole is still there today). We know it can be done. Its just a matter of getting the funding and calling the right people.
