Pictorial Proof : Aguas Tortas Coming Soon To Howard Street

Can't believe everything you read on Everyblock. The headhonchos at Chevanston sent a loafing field reporter/producer out to verify claims that a Mexican restaurant was gonna open on Howard Street.

Aguas Tortas literally means waters cakes. On the website it explains that aguas refers to the flavored waters it sells. Tamarind, jamaica and ofcourse horchata. Tortas are Mexican sandwiches and burritos.

Juan Jimenez opened the first Aguas Tortas last year at 618 1/2 Church Street Evanston, Illinois. A hop skip and a jump away from Northwestern University. "To me you know its like youse a customer when you come into my house, to my home. And you know I want you to enjoy it because that's the only way I'm going to keep you here." Looking at the video the store is decorated with day of the dead figurines and artwork.

Is this a chain in the making? 99 reviews on Yelp with an average of 4 and half stars. A thriving business in Evanston expanding to Howard Street is a welcome addition to the neighborhood.
