It didn't take long.
All 180 garden beds have been spoken for (this was discussed at the Jargowood meeting yesterday). It was only about two weeks ago that the garden plots on the 43,000 square foot lot at Howard and Ashland went on sale.
It will be at least two or three years before any future development at the site.
The four foot by eight plots went for 75 bucks a pop. At least twenty of them are for scholarships. The blueprints (pro bono work) for the gazebo have just been submitted to the alderman's office.
The fence will be locked each evening. More eyes on the street will make Howard Street safer.
