Someone is making money on all this construction. Bonds are selling well and CTA is paying very low interest on them. So many projects that little stuff like switching out tracks and railroad ties doesn't rate press.
No public announcement of any kind. On the alderman's site, CTA Tattler, the official CTA or any news outlet. For the "L" this is just a routine upgrade. A perfunctory heads up is always appreciated though.
And ICYMI new CTA train cars are due should start rolling out sometime in 2019. And a mega redo of the Wilson stop will finally start late this year.
