This upcoming event has been posted by reader request (Jim A). Looks like it will be a meeting of the minds of Rogers Park. Where money comes from and how its spent is always a worthwhile topic for discussion. The economy drives everything that happens in our neighborhood up to the national level. Let's Talk TIF's will be taking place at the Loyola Park Field House @ 1230 W Greenleaf Ave July 1st from 7-9 pm. The flyer for this event was first posted at the NHNA blog by Michael Luckenbach on June 18th.
Tax Increment Financing is supposed to help us (the city) in the long run. With the recent real estate bust most folks are fed up with TIF's because the promised return on investment is turning out to be more theory than reality. TIF's most often benefit those in society who already have more than enough money (the well heeled and connected). It is a useful way to encourage investment in the city (those who might otherwise build in suburbia), help increase future taxes and create jobs (most temporary).

Meeting of the minds? Are you kidding? Listening to Tresser, Joravsky and Dumke talk about TIFs would be like listening to Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin talking about abortion and gun control. Organizers Gordon and Ginderske certainly know how to dress up the Propaganda Wolf in Unbiased Sheep's clothing. Attend if you love the company of political sore losers and orgies of anti-Joe Moore negativity.

You sure got that wrong Maxy. We raved at, offended and booed the goons who organized the TIF travesty (the "G" goons). Non-stop belly-achers who never come up with a win or a solution. Just a bunch of sore losers who won't get over the fact that they flat out lost to "Daddy" Joe Moore and still are losing. Waawaawaah. Scott Phillips still doesn't know he's on the losing side of most everything. Apparently you are a card-carrying member of the Goon's loser club huh?

Tresser does a damn good job dressing down the whole TIF debacle.
If some Joe-blow thinks it is some Joe Moore thing just fact check Mr. Tresser and be done with it ........goofball.
